Though not set in Texas, I believe the limo you described was driven by Boss Hogg in the classic TV series, The Dukes of Hazzard.
In the mid- to late-fifties, the football team was lovingly referred to as the "Standies" because they were not allowed to sit during the entire game. FYI from Me-who-was-there-back-then.
Back many years ago in Burlington, CO - my name used to be Jessica Long (daughter of Gary & Corrine Long) ...I knew you and your wonderful mother when I was a 9yr. old girl on the Burlington swim team back in 1980 (some of the best days of my life - I miss the red/white striped suits and my long blond braids - LOL!)...I still love to swim, still remember your mother's amazing smile and laughter, and what a fun, kind person you were. I now reside in Amarillo, TX (got a good laugh out of your blog). It's great to read your blogs and remember you and your mom! God Bless!
Jessica: The thing about those striped suits ... they tanned only through one of the colors. Don't know about you, but I had a zebra ass until Thanksgiving.
Roscoe: it looks EXACTLY like that limo from the 'Dukes....P.S., is that your real name: Roscoe Coltrane?
Roscoe P. Coltrane was the name of the sheriff that was always after Bo and Luke Duke, and drove Boss Hogg around town. You need to watch more CMT Late Night or TV Land.
Damn, I knew it was too familiar....but wasn't Roscoe the bumblehead deputy?
